Sandwiches for Solidarity

Los Angeles is home to some of the best eateries in California, and some of the best are union. Langer’s Delicatessen, situated in Downtown Los Angeles on Alvarado St., happens to be one of them. This old school favorite is now in its 69th year and is union-staffed and operated by members of UNITE HERE.

Langer’s has been dishing out artisanal sandwiches for decades and has become a frequent haunt for Los Angeles locals. Their famous #19 pastrami sandwich is so mouthwatering that they even get special requests to overnight it by air! This craved pastrami sandwich has been imitated but not duplicated; nothing comes close to the original, which is made by union workers who are paid fair wages.

Honored by the City of Los Angeles numerous times for its contributions to their community and historic value, Langer’s is also a recipient of the coveted James Beard Foundation Award presented by Bertolli, and has even been featured on Food Network. Langer’s serves as a prime example of an all around success, and the importance of a valued workforce.

So head on over and grab a bit to eat, knowing that you are doing your part to support a good employer that treats its workers fairly. Their union-made sandwiches are crafted to perfection, and Labor 411 just can’t get enough.
