Sears, Which Laid Off Workers While Execs Got $25 Million Bonuses, Won’t Close Thanksgiving Day

Sears made headlines over the past year over its bankruptcy debacle.

First came news off store closings and layoffs.

And then the $25 million in bonuses to the executives who presided over the company as it tanked.

And while the higher-ups were enjoying those bonuses, the company was accused of stiffing former employees on $43 million of severance.

So it should come as no surprise that many workers at Sears stores won’t receive a break Thanksgiving Day, as the national chain opens it doors to shoppers.

Will you find executives stocking the shelves that today? Something tells us that they’ll likely have the day off, enjoying their mansions or third yachts.
