Summer is coming to a close so we’d like to leave you with one last refreshing yet tangy recipe for a sangria-type drink, get this, made with beer! We love our union-made beer.
Make this beer sangria for a Labor Day BBQ or enjoy anytime throughout the year!
As always, our recipes are designed to be prepared with union-made ingredients and support unionized grocery stores.
• Ingredients – purchase from your local unionized grocery store
o 2 pears, peeled and chopped
o 1 cup plus 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
o 4 12-ounce bottles of union-made lager of your choice, chilled
o 1 cup triple sec
o In a food processor or blender, combine the pears with the 2 tbsp of lemon juice and puree
o Pour the beer into a pitcher and stir the remaining 1 cup of lemon juice, the triple sec and the pear puree
o Fill pint glasses about half way with ice, add the sangria and add some extra pear slices in the glass if desired
Labor 411 endorses moderate and responsible drinking.
