Betsy Devos quits, citing Trump’s ‘rhetoric’ and its impact on ‘impressionable children’

You know things are bad when Betsy Devos resigns from the Trump administration, which she just did.

“There is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, and it is the inflection point for me,” she explained. “Impressionable children are watching all of this, and they are learning from us.”

One has to wonder why his Cabinet is resigning now, instead of at all those other moments in Trump’s term when he did and said horrendous things.

An explanation for the timing could be that Cabinet members don’t want to be put in a position to invoke the 25th Amendment. It’s much easier to simply quit and not have to make a decision at all. Besides, they are out anyway on in 13 days when Biden takes over.

Another explanation might be that they are trying to salvage their reputations in the face of the Capitol riots. What better way to show you were never really part of Trump’s craziness than resigning from his administration.
