Thousands Of UAW Workers At John Deere Ready To Strike Over Proposed Cuts To Pay And Healthcare

John Deere could see a strike soon over its proposed cuts.

KTVO reports:

“Auto workers in Ottumwa, Iowa and across the Midwest are in the middle of a contract dispute with John Deere.

Members of United Auto Workers (UAW) unions entered negotiations with the company in August.

John Deere is proposing cuts to employee pay and other healthcare benefits.

Thousands of workers in Iowa and Illinois plan to strike if John Deere and UAW are unable to reach an agreement.

The negotiations came up during a press briefing at the White House Wednesday. White house Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters the Biden Administration is aware of the dispute and is following it closely.”
