Looking to make a delicious dessert this holiday season but, don’t have the time or patience to follow a complicated recipe? We’ve got you covered with this easy-to-follow recipe for apple crisps (yum)!
Tip: You’ll need 6-7 ounce ramekins – small ceramic or glass bowls – to make this dish. Purchase a set made by CorningWare since their products are touched by IBT as USW workers!
As always, our recipes are designed to use union-made ingredients – so you’re not only satisfying your taste buds, but also supporting good jobs here in the US!
Ingredients (purchase from your local unionized grocery store):
5 Granny Smith apples – peeled, cored, chopped small
¼ cup finely chopped Frito-Lay Praline Pecans
3 tbsp. all-purpose Gold Medal flour
½ cup Domino brown sugar
2 tbsp. Aunt Jemima maple syrup
1 tbsp. lemon juice
¾ cup all-purpose Gold Medal flour
1/3 cup Domino brown sugar
¼ tsp. Durkee ground cinnamon
¼ tsp. Morton salt
6 tbsp. chilled Land O’Lakes butter – cut into pieces
¼ cup coarsely chopped Frito-Lay Praline Pecans
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
2. For the filling:
a. Mix all the ingredients under filling together (apples, pecans, flour, sugar, syrup, lemon juice).
b. Then place the mixture into the 6-7 ounce ramekins.
3. For the topping:
a. Mix the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl
b. Then blend the butter into the mixture until it forms pea size lumps
c. Stir in pecans and sprinkle topping mixture over the filling in the ramekins.
4. Bake crisps for 35-40 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
