Union Chef: Baked Cranberry Brie

Switch it up this Thanksgiving and try a Baked Cranberry Brie. This sweet and savory appetizer is a fresh take on a traditional Thanksgiving staple that is sure to wow your guests. With pops of brilliant colors it is almost too pretty to eat. But rest assured it tastes as good as it looks! Like always, all of our recipes are designed to be prepared with union-made ingredients and support good jobs!


– 1 egg (Horizon)
– Flour (Gold Medal)
– 1 tablespoon water
– Seamless Dough Sheet (Pillsbury)
– 1/2 cup apricot preserves or jam (Smucker’s)
– 1/3 cup cranberry’s (Dole or Ocean Spray)
– 1 (13- to 16-ounce) Brie cheese round


1. Heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
2. On a floured surface unfold the pastry sheet and roll into a 14- inch square
3. Spread the apricot preserves in the middle of the pastry sheet, avoiding the edges
4. Sprinkle the cranberries on top of the apricot preserves
5. Place the cheese round in the center of the pastry, and fold the pastry up to cover the cheese
6. Trim the excess pastry sheet and press to seal
7. Flip the wrapped brie over and place seam down on a baking sheet
8. Beat egg and water in a small bowl, and brush the mixture onto the pastry
9. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown
10. Serve warm on bread or crackers
