Labor 411 has put together a few cocktail recipes for you over the years, so we figured with the warm weather coming around you might want to find them all in one place. See our Union-Made Mojito, Long Island Iced Tea and Margarita recipes below. Also, we’ve added a new one to the list – Union-Made Piña Coladas! Enjoy!
Piña Colada: On a warm day it’s the ultimate lay out by the beach and soak up the sun drink.
2 oz. white rum (Bacardi, Cruzan, Mount Gay)
6 oz. pineapple juice (Tropicana)
2 oz. coconut cream
1 oz. heavy cream (Alta Dena, Country Fresh, Hiland Dairy, Horizon)
Approximately 2 cups ice
Blend ingredients until smooth. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and cherries.
Margarita: Goes perfect with chips and salsa, and some good company.
1 1/2 oz. Herradura tequila
1 1/2 oz. Montezuma triple sec
1 to 1 1/4 oz. of lime juice
Salt (Morton or Diamond Crystal) for the rim of the glass
Shake all the ingredients with cracked ice in a cocktail shaker until the exterior frosts. Strain into a glass over rocks, or “up” into a cocktail glass.
Mojito: The Cuban classic. Refreshing and quite tasty.
1 ½ oz. of Bacardi Superior Rum
½ cup club soda
12 mint leaves
½ lime
1 tbsp. of white sugar (Domino)
Muddle mint leaves and lime. Cover with sugar and top with ice. Add Bacardi Superior Rum and then top off with club soda. Stir well, garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint. Savor and enjoy.
Long Island Iced Tea: Not for the faint of heart. Not iced tea. Not to be missed.
½ ounce Bacardi Superior Rum
½ ounce Seagram’s Gin
½ ounce Skol Vodka
½ ounce Herradura Silver Tequila
½ ounce Barton Triple Sec
1 ounce fresh lime juice
½ ounce simple syrup
½ to 1 ounce Coca-Cola
Pour ingredients over ice, saving the cola for the topper.
