1. A Bigger Paycheck
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, union members earn over $200 more a week than workers not in unions. That translates to over $10,000 a year just for belonging to a union.
Are businesses inherently against wage increases? And should they be? Labor 411 founder Cherri Senders writes in the Los Angeles Business Journal about a possible shift in the narrative and why many businesses and consumers are embracing the idea of pumping up workers’ paychecks.
With the city of Los Angeles set to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2020, much of the drama surrounding the pay increase will now shift to nearby municipalities. By Michael Messina
National Bourbon Day is this Sunday and the Labor 411 crew was assigned to quality control on some union-made bourbons in preparation for the big day. (These also make a great gift for Dad, too.) We ranked four bottles: Knob Creek, Old Grand-Dad, Elijah Craig and Wild Turkey.

After all, they don’t exactly advertise that they do so (and the bad ones don’t advertise that they treat their employees poorly). With that in mind, we decided to make grocery shopping easier by putting together the list below so that you don’t have to do the guesswork!
