Beer Can Chicken
Looking for the perfect recipe for you and your friends this Labor Day or to kick off the football season? Try our tasty Beer Can Chicken. This tipsy take on grilled chicken is sure to have your taste buds screaming for more. It is the perfect excuse to break out the BBQ and crack open a beer.
Ingredients (purchase from your local unionized grocery store):
1 can of beer (Budweiser, Coors, Busch, or any other from our massive beer list)
1 3.5-4 pound whole chicken (Foster Farms, Butterball)
1 tablespoon of salt (Morton, Diamond Crystal)
2 whole dried chilies
2 tablespoons sugar (Domino)
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (Durkee)
1 tablespoon ground cumin (Durkee)
1 tablespoon oregano (Durkee)
Directions:
1. In a blender combine salt, chilies, sugar, cinnamon, cumin, and oregano until thoroughly mixed together
2. Remove and discard the neck and giblets of the chicken
3. Rub the chicken inside and out with the spice mixture
4. Light your grill to medium heat
5. Pour out (or drink) half the beer
6. Leave the other half in the can and slide the chicken onto the can
7. Place standing up on grill
8. Cover and grill for 1.5 hours or until fully cooked
9. Let cool for 10 minutes
