As if 2025 has not been surreal enough, a GOP bill brings the bizarre to a new level.

Representative Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) has introduced the Red, White, and Blueland Act of 2025. The legislation “authorize[s] the President to enter into negotiations to acquire Greenland and to rename Greenland as “Red, White, and Blueland”.

Why the GOP continues to push the Greenland issue is anyone’s guess. It wasn’t a focus of Trump’s election campaign, yet he and the GOP seem to obsessed with it.

The “patriotic” name follows after Trump changed Gulf of Mexico to Guld of America.
